Update from the President

Hi everyone,

I’m really pleased to be writing to you for the first time as President of Softball Victoria. It’s a role I’m proud to take on, and one I step into with a lot of respect for our softball community, our history, and all the people who keep our sport going across the state.

More than anything, I wanted to take this chance to say hello — and thank you.

Softball has been part of my life for a long time, and like many of you I have spent more hours at the softball park than I can count. I know many of you feel the same when I say that there is so much heart behind this sport. It’s not just about what happens on the diamond — to everyone who gives their time — the early morning setup and late afternoon packup crew, the coaches who stay back after training, the umpires and scorers who give up their weekends, the canteen crew, the parents getting players where they need to be, and the players of every age and level — thank you. You are the reason our sport feels like a true community.

As I start in this role, I’m keen to focus on a few things that matter: creating strong pathways, supporting our volunteers, making the softball experience better for everyone, and helping make sure our sport is welcoming and accessible to anyone who wants to be involved. We have a proud history in Victoria, and there is plenty to look forward to as we keep building on that together.

I have already seen a few of you at Fawkner Park with the Melbourne Association and at State Team trials – thank you for your warm welcome. Over the coming months, I’m looking forward to getting out to as many associations, competitions, events, and community gatherings as I can. I want to meet people, listen, hear what’s working well, understand where we can improve, and work with you on the future of softball in Victoria.

Thanks again for everything you already do for our sport. I’m excited to work alongside you, celebrate the wins, face the challenges together, and keep building a softball community we can all be proud of.

Team Entries are open for Women's State League

Get your team together and compete alongside some of Victoria’s top athletes! 

Alternating between Melbourne’s East and West each week, this competition brings together many of Victoria’s top athletes for a high-quality round robin competition, culminating in finals before the National Championships begin.

The competition is open to all players and provides an excellent opportunity to test yourself against some of the state's best talent. It is particularly valuable for current State Team athletes and those aspiring to represent Victoria in the future.

Softball Victoria is excited to launch our 2027 Auckland Easter Classic Development Tour, giving athletes the opportunity to compete internationally, develop their skills, build lifelong friendships and experience one of New Zealand's premier softball tournaments.

The Victorian State Team campaigns are underway for 2026-27

Softball Victoria are pleased to provide all the information, as it comes to hand, for our State Team Program.

We aim to assist all athletes and their families to be well prepared and organised for your representative journey, from U14s through to O35 teams.

Sporting Schools T4 Applications

If you're involved with a primary school, encourage your school to choose Softball! 

Our Softball Sporting Schools program is fun, inclusive and engaging, helping students develop fundamental movement skills, teamwork and confidence — while introducing them to a sport they can continue playing in their local community. 

Sporting Schools Funding applications close at 5:00pm on Friday, 21 August 2026.

Werribee's Memorial Shield is ALMOST FULL!

Got your team in? The Werribee Softball Association is again hosting it's annual Memorial Shield Tournament on the weekend of 19th & 20th September, 2026.

Team entries are open to both Women's and Men's teams and all ages are welcome from 13 years to Masters.
