Please note the regulations regarding team entry and players for State Championships 


  • Players and officials participating in State Championships must be registered members of their respective Affiliated Member Association. 
  • Team construction for open teams will be association based, with associations required to have a minimum of nine of their own players (and a maximum of 14) to submit a team. 
  • Where associations cannot achieve a minimum team size, players will be required to nominate to be drafted.  Players are required to play for their home associations where their home association has entered a team. 
  • Associations can only cut players where their team numbers would exceed 14 players.
  • Initial team lists are to be submitted on the Google Sheet (sent to you by vicevents@softball.org.au) by Wednesday 4 February.

  • Associations wishing to register to select players from the draft please complete the form by Friday 6 FebruaryRegistration to select draft players

  • Players who have made themselves available for your association and not been selected, or their association does not have a team – can enter the draft here by 5pm on Friday 6 February: 2026 Open State Championships - Player Draft Nomination

  • The draft will be completed on Monday 9 February at 7pm and players notified by COB Tuesday 10 February.

  • Final team lists must be submitted by Wednesday 11 February.  No players for the home association can be added to this list after this date. 

  • Eligible Pick-up players must complete the Championship Permit form using the online permit system (Revsport) and must be processed 7 days prior to the State Championship (by COB Friday 13 February).

  • Associations are required to provide at least one umpire per team entry at all State Championships.  Your umpire must be included with your initial team list. 

  • Associations are required to provide one scorer per team entry at all State Championships.  Your scorer must be included on your team list.
