Softball Victoria is running a series of Junior Player Hitting Clinics during the 2026 Softball Australia Open Women's National Championships at Waverley Softball Association, Jells Park, delivered by NCAS - High Performance Elite Coach, Mark Armstrong and other experienced coaches.

Mark has coached hitting across Australia, USA, Canada, and Europe at all levels including collegiate, high school and in large scale summer camps. He specialises in presenting innovative clinics/camps for developing players and new methods of teaching skills for interested coaches.

WHAT'S ON OFFER?

Basic Hitting Clinics catering for juniors aged 10 -12 and 13 - 17 years, additional Advanced Hitting Clinics catering for those aged 13-17 and a Coaches Hitting Clinic for up to 20 participants.

BASIC HITTING CLINIC FORMAT  (BOTH PLAYER AGE GROUPS)

Session: 2 hours 30 mins for 24 players maximum enrolment

Price: $25.00 per player (inc. Fees and GST)

Rotating Sessions in small groups of 6 - 8 players

1. Basic requirements of quality stance, swing mechanics and very simple mental approach.

2. Hitting circuit of basic swing development drills run in a very interactive way (players will have their own rotating stations)

3. Hitting circuit to introduce and practice basic “contact points” - inside, outside & middle

4. Other innovative topics 

ADVANCED HITTING CLINIC FORMAT (PLAYERS AGED 13-17 ONLY)

Session: 2 hours 30 mins duration for 24 players maximum enrolment

Price: $25.00 per player (inc. Fees and GST)

Rotating Sessions in groups of 6 - 8 players

Session topics include:

Vision Skills for Hitting (with drills)

“Power Up Your Hitting” (with drills)

“Better Preparation for your Turn At-Bat” (with drills)

“Power Hitting To Gaps” (with drills)

COACHES HITTING CLINIC FORMAT (20 coaches maximum)  

Note: Each coach is welcome to bring one player at no cost if they wish (though not essential)

Session: 2 hours 30 mins duration

Price: $25.00 per coach (inc. Fees and GST)

A highly interactive session, with coaches participating in the drills with their players and also involved in group discussions.

Topics include: Hitting with Power, Developing Vision Skills, Basic Hitting Mechanics for Success, plus other topics.  New technology use will also be part of this session.
