Baseball Victoria (BV), Softball Victoria (SV) and School Sport Victoria (SSV) are pleased to announce a collaborative project to review the delivery model of secondary interschool baseball and softball across Victoria, that is currently delivered by School Sport Victoria (SSV).

Working in partnership with SSV, the project aims to develop a contemporary and sustainable interschool competition model delivered by BV & SV, that increases participation opportunities for students while creating stronger connections between schools, community clubs and local associations.

The review reflects a shared commitment to ensuring school sport continues to meet the needs of students, teachers and the broader baseball and softball communities, while supporting clear participation pathways between school and community sport.

To help inform the future competition model, BV and SV are seeking expressions of interest from secondary school teachers, sport coordinators and representatives from community baseball and softball clubs and associations from both regional and metropolitan areas to be part of the planning stage and join a project advisory group.

The advisory group will play an important role in shaping the future of secondary school baseball and softball by providing practical advice and feedback throughout the project. Members will contribute their knowledge and experience to the review of competition structures, participation opportunities and implementation planning, helping to ensure the model is practical, inclusive and sustainable for schools and the wider sporting community.

The project represents a genuine collaborative approach, bringing together expertise from the education and sporting sectors to create a competition framework that encourages greater participation, enhances the student experience and strengthens the connection between school sport and community clubs.

BV, SV, and SSV look forward to working with stakeholders from across Victoria as the project progresses. Updates on the review, including recommendations and any future changes to the secondary interschool baseball and softball competitions delivered in partnership with School Sport Victoria, will be communicated as key milestones are reached.

Expressions of interest for the working group are now open and will close on Friday 7 August 2026 at 5pm.
